This intensive trainer offers a variety of exercises at A2 / B1 level to prepare for written communication in a professional setting and in everyday private life. The course is designed for learners who are either already working in or preparing for a German-speaking professional environment. It conveys crucial aspects of the various forms of written communication (e-mail, letter) as well as the special features of the different types of text that are important in (professional) everyday life (eg invitation, inquiry, order, complaint). The individual types of text are linked thematically to each other in chapters (eg in the chapter “Requests”: Query, Offer, Refusal, Request, Order Confirmation, Invoice, Complaint, Reminder).
All tasks are derived from the ‘can-do’ descriptions of the Common European Framework of Reference and are relevant to everyday life. In addition to the writing tasks themselves, the Intensive Coach contains strategy tips and tips for self-correction. The appendix contains a solution key and a thematic vocabulary list that can be supplemented with your own translations.
Writing at Work can be used as additional material to accompany the textbook, but is also suitable for self-study.
